NEW Impact of Full-Day Kindergarten Dashboard

In September 2024, the ÌðÐÄÖ±²¥ (ÌðÐÄÖ±²¥) launched Full-Day, Every-Day Kindergarten (FDK) across the division. Now, as we reflect on the first year of this transformative initiative, ÌðÐÄÖ±²¥ is proud to introduce the Impact of Full-Day Kindergarten Dashboard — a powerful new tool available in the ÌðÐÄÖ±²¥ Data Hub. This dashboard provides a look at how FDK has influenced student development, family routines, and classroom dynamics.

Here's a little preview into what you can find:

  • Families Give It a Gold Star
    • 73% of families said their child adjusted quickly; 20% said it took time but now comfortable.
    • 70% of teachers said most students adjusted within a couple of months.
  • Growth Across the Board
    • 98% of families saw academic, emotional, social, or physical growth.
    • Many noted more independence, better communication, and improved French fluency.
  • More Time, Less Stress for Families
    • 68% said FDK made daily routines easier.
    • Reduced mid-day pickups and better alignment with work schedules.
  • Teachers: Inspired, But Also Tired
    • FDK was rewarding but demanding.
    • Teachers called for more support, especially Educational Assistants.

The first year of FDK laid a strong foundation. With the launch of the Impact of Full-Day Kindergarten Dashboard, ÌðÐÄÖ±²¥ is committed to transparency and continuous improvement. This initiative is about more than just extending the school day — it’s about giving every child the time and space to thrive.
